Our recommendation:
Go on an organized tour rather than going by yourself.
Our recommendation is to take an organized tour to ile aux cerfs as the price of these tours is usually much cheaper than traveling by yourself and paying for the taxi/transport and speed boat trip. These travel packages are saving time and hassle as well as money, and they will allow you to relax and truly enjoy the beauty of Ile Aux Cerfs when knowing all arrangements are being taken care of.
Also, almost all the ile aux cerfs tours include full lunch and drinks as part of the tour, making it a much cheaper alternative, and definitely offering good value for money. You should also consider when you travel by yourself, that the transportation is a hassle and is usually more expensive, and also your lunch expense will probably be much higher (expect to pay relatively high tourist prices for lunch).

I was surprised to read the negative reviews from earlier this year. we have just returned from a day out at lies aux serf and had a great time. The beach was immaculately clean and the warm shallow waters perfect for our 2 yr old. We did the par ascending, inflatables pulled by speedboat and the island tour. Our only...

This was our second visit here, we bought an "all in" ticket including a barbeque lunch. Lovely 20 minute boat trip, there was only our party of four adults and one child on board, the crew were chatty and pointed out scenes of interest. On arrival at the island we discovered we had to get another boat to where lunch...

We booked a catamaran to ile aux cherfs. We only spend 1 hour on the island itself. So that was a little disappointing.. Make sure you can spend more time there. Ile aux cherfs does look like any other beach though: blue water, white sand and blue sky. The water on one side of the island is very shallow, so...

Had heard great things about this place ... Well the day's sailing on the catamaran on the most beautiful sunny July day - with snorkelling and yummy food thrown in, and a pit-stop seeing monkeys jumping about - was just fabulous ... however being deposited on this so called paradise island was a bitter disappointment and we couldn't wait for...

I have visited Ile aux Cerfs several times, the last time several years ago. Last week I went back and I was really looking forward to it as it has always been my favourite place on the island. However, I can only describe it now as a muddy mess - it has been completely ruined. The problem is that a...

price for tandem Rs 1200 and single Rs 1000. only 2 parasailing operators are licensed to operate at ile aux cerfs and they have been there for more than 15 years. the 2 operators namely top parasail and sun parasail have a dedicated desk on ile aux cerfs for bookings and sale of tickets and they do not require the...

Went to ile aux cerfs yesterday. The speedboat trip to the waterfalls was the highlight but the waterfall itself was rather disapponting including the short amt of time u get to spend by the waterfall. We also did the parasailing which I personally think is such a scam. I find it hard to understand how they can charge Rs1200 for...

The place is fantastic, I never seen a beach or a sea like this before! however, its FULL of tourists from all over Mauritius which can be a bit chavy. I would surely recommend a visit BUT make sure you take some food and drinks with you as the prices are 3-4 times the normal price. P.S. The sun lounger...

This was my second visit to Ile Aux Cerf, my first was in Nov 2009, & I couldn't believe how much it had changed. On our first visit we thought we had found heaven on earth, everything about it was beautiful & was exactly like the postcard pictures we had seen. This time, in the main tourist part, there was...

We took a private motorboat for a day trip. This started with a pleasant hour on the water, taking us past the ferry stop and onto the other side, next to the waterfall (great views) and then back towards the main beach, where we were left for an hour. If this were to be our only destination I would have...
