France: Jean-Pierre Chevenement presidential candidate

Senator and former Minister Jean-Pierre Chevenement, founder of the Citizens' Movement (MDC), announced on Saturday, November 5,'élection his candidacy for the 2012 presidential election in France.
"I've been thinking and I decided to apply to move the lines, that is to say to the left and France to meet the challenges before us," he said on France 2.
Jean-Pierre Chevenement, 72, was several times minister in the 1980s and 1990s.
Candidate for the presidential election of 2002 he had obtained 5.3% of the vote. In 2007, he had supported the Socialist candidate Segolene Royal.
Must obtain 500 signatures from elected for his candidacy to be validated.
